#COSPAR2022 The Blog: 7

People dancing in a circle

Friday 22 July 2022

This week seems to be whizzing by, where did the time go? Today is the last day for the busy poster sessions, do go along and meet the people behind the science.

This is also your last chance to visit the COSPAR 2024 stand in the Exhibition area & find out more about Busan, the host city, & meet some of the organisers.

Do drop by the other stands here as well—the Exhibition area will be closing at the end of the day.

The Panel on Education continues strong. Here we see what they’ve been up to this week: Rosa Doran reports on “Cubesats to train undergrad students in Community Colleges. Inspiration with Chantale Damas.” The participants also experienced tactile science, visited the University of Athens Observatory & the Planet in Your Hands exhibit & even observed the Sun through a telescope. Rosa also shared one of her highlights: “Science for development in refugee camps. The Amanar project.”

And talking of those requiring support, did you know that part of the registration fees & part of the rebate for COSPAR Scientific Assemblies go towards grants to enable scientists under 35 & from developing countries to join in COSPAR  Assemblies? This year we’ve helped about 150 scientists to attend COSPAR 2022 & we hope to extend this financial aid in future Assemblies.

If you haven’t yet filled in your COSPAR Associate form, please seek out one of our boxes & put it in!  And do continue to share your photos and highlights.
