COSPAR officially issued the Heliophysics Guidelines on 4 November 2025 during the 6th COSPAR Symposium in Nicosia, Cyprus. The Guidelines are an initiative of the Task Group on Establishing an International Geospace Systems Program, chaired by Larry Kepko, to set out unified global principles for the scientific study of the Sun and its effects.
