COSPAR signs MoU with Open Lunar Foundation

COSPAR signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 9 March 2026, with the Open Lunar Foundation (OLF), marking an important step toward strengthening collaboration in lunar exploration. This collaboration aims to promote scientific priorities, facilitate data exchange, and support the integration of scientific perspectives into the OLF Lunar Ledger.

This collaboration was further highlighted during the 2nd Conference on Earth-Space Sustainability held on 19 March in Leiden, where COSPAR President Pascale Ehrenfreund and General Counsel Niklas Hedman contributed to panel discussions and workshops, including speaking on COSPAR’s role in Environmental Stewardship in Outer Space Activities, taking part in a special session Towards an international Assessment Panel on Earth-Space Sustainability, and the FOGOS Science Communication and Policy Engagement Workshop.

COSPAR is proud to be working with OLF to advance responsible, scientifically informed, and coordinated lunar activities, through dialogue, information sharing, and international collaboration.
