Roger-Maurice Bonnet (1937 - 2026)

It is with great sadness that we share the news of Roger Bonnet's passing. COSPAR honors the memory of Roger Bonnet, whose life was devoted to the advancement of space research and international scientific cooperation. As a distinguished scientist and former President of COSPAR from 2002 to 2010, Professor Bonnet leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inform, guide, and inspire future generations of researchers and leaders in space science. His COSPAR presidency was marked by a profound sense of responsibility and an unwavering dedication to progress. He championed international dialogue, fostered emerging talent, and strengthened the role of science as a bridge between cultures. May his legacy continue to guide us, and may his memory remain a lasting source of inspiration for space scientists worldwide.


COSPAR 2026: Submit Your Abstract by 13 February

Abstract submission for the 46th COSPAR Scientific Assembly and Associated Events (COSPAR 2026), 1 - 9 August, Florence, Italy, is now open through 13 February. All information on the scientific program is available through the abstract submission link.
